Steve brings over 20 years of experience coaching youth sports at all levels, from introductory programs through high school varsity competition. He has spent several years coaching travel softball and previously served as an assistant coach for the Farmington High School varsity softball team. Currently, he is a coach with the Lady Dukes 16U Showcase Team.

Throughout his coaching career, Steve “Coach G” has maintained a consistent philosophy: building confidence is the foundation of player development. He believes that without confidence, athletes are at a distinct disadvantage. He fosters this confidence through skill development, positive reinforcement, and by recognizing that each player learns differently and requires a tailored approach to reach their potential. He emphasizes that failure is part of the learning process and encourages players to embrace it as a critical step toward growth.

Coach G has specific expertise in training and developing young catchers. His instruction covers the core fundamentals of receiving, framing, blocking, transfers, footwork, throwing mechanics, game management, and situational awareness. In addition, he believes the mental side of the game is equally as important as physical skills. He emphasizes mental toughness and teaches players how to manage the psychological aspects of competition.

With a proven track record of developing athletes both on and off the field, Coach G is committed to helping each player reach her full potential while cultivating a passion for the game of softball.
